About HSV and CMYK Color Models

HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value)

HSV is a cylindrical color model that rearranges the RGB color model to be more intuitive for artistic purposes.

  • Hue: The color type (0-360°). 0° is red, 120° is green, and 240° is blue.
  • Saturation: The intensity of the color (0-100%). 0% is grayscale, 100% is full color.
  • Value: The brightness of the color (0-100%). 0% is black, 100% is full brightness.

CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black)

CMYK is a subtractive color model primarily used in color printing. When colors are mixed, they create darker colors.

  • Cyan: Amount of cyan ink (0-100%)
  • Magenta: Amount of magenta ink (0-100%)
  • Yellow: Amount of yellow ink (0-100%)
  • Key/Black: Amount of black ink (0-100%)
